Umbrella Plant doesn't sound like the most elegant name in the world, but this plant certainly has some grace and sophistication about it. Also known as the Parasol Plant, it has pretty foliage in hues of yellow, gold and green, and has a tendency to grow fast.
Its age dictates its amount of leaves - so a mature plant will have over 12 leaves on one stalk, whereas a younger tree will have between four and six.
This is a tropical plant native to Taiwan and southern China, so providing it with humidity and warm temperatures will help it to thrive. If the leaves start to look yellow or droopy, then step away from the watering can as overwatering this plant will be its demise.
